Hocus Pocus (7:30 PM) & The Craft (9:45 PM) / Showtime
Million Dollar Theater / Location
"It's time to get our 1990's Witch on!
Tonight, the spells and spirits and 90's vibes are gonna flow at the Million Dollar Theater as we first invoke Disney's cult classic Hocus Pocus starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson Sister Witches.
Brought back from interdimensional imprisonment by an unsuspecting brother and sister, the Sandersons work (somewhat ineptly) to get their revenge and insure they will stay above ground from here on in.
One of those Disney gems that became beloved by a generation through constant play on the Disney Channel, Hocus Pocus is wildly enjoyable and more subversive than maybe even Disney realize (like that strangely erotic and sexy bus beat between Sarah Jessica Parker and the Bus Driver?!?!).
Then. . .we go from the witch movie we loved as kids to the witch movie we love as teenagers and young adults. The wildly fun and guilty pleasure The Craft. Made in full bore mid 1990's mode complete with grunge soundtrack, bad fashion, we follow telekinetic Sarah as she transfers to an LA high school and falls in with three misfit wanna-be-witches. But when they discover with Sarah they can actually invoke spells, get revenge on the high school kids who did them wrong, and make men bend to their will. . .well. . .hell hath no fury like mid-1990's teenagers scorned.
So join us for a double dose of 90's witchery. On 35mm. In a movie palace!"
