The double header kicks off with Tim Burton's amazing, horrific, incredibly dark take on the American folk tale Sleepy Hollow. Here, Ichabod Crane is re-imagined as a New York Policeman who comes to 18th century upstate New York's creepy village Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of de-capitations.
We follow it up with Francis Ford Coppola's great (and surprisingly faithful) adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. We've all seen this vampire tale in countless iterations. What separates Coppola's take and puts it at the cinematic head of the class is its incredible experimental cinema.
